Fall 2016 – First Impressions, Part Two

The avalanche continues! More shows keep tumbling out, and with yesterday providing the first genuinely impressive crop of the new season, it seems about time to take stock once more. There haven’t really been any unexpected prizes yet, but both Euphonium and Yuri on Ice had terrific premieres, so I can’t complain. Today will mark the premiere of Flip Flappers, and from there, we’ve still got a fair number of potential stars to look forward to. Looks like we’ve got an exciting season ahead of us!

Scorching Ping Pong Girls

Of particular note is the fact that nothing’s been especially terrible so far. There have certainly been bad shows, and shows I won’t continue because they don’t interest me, but nothing has really gotten into the spirit-breaking territory yet. But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time! As always, the full list of reviews is available here, but you can check out individual reviews by clicking the links below. I wrote a whole lot about Euphonium!

Sound! Euphonium 2 – 5/5

Yuri!!! On ICE – 5/5

Matoi the Sacred Slayer – 3/5

Scorching Ping Pong Girls – 3/5

Brave Witches – 2.5/5

NANBAKA – 2.5/5

Trickster – 2/5

  1. “nothing has really gotten into the spirit-breaking territory yet” Someone hasn’t seen Heybot

      • Yep! Second seasons are generally handled by whoever did the first, unless there’s just not enough interest to continue them (like with Active Raid).
