Today I’ve got a review of one of my favorite films, Naoko Yamada’s indescribably good Liz and the Blue Bird. It’s a little tough to describe things which are indescribably good, but I do my best over the course of this review, and am pretty proud of the overall piece. Thank you very much for this review! I hadn’t heard much about Liz and the Blue Bird beforehand, and I may have missed my chance to watch it had I not seen this. Instead, I am happily back from the closest screening.
An exceptional film, and more proof that Yamada is an equally exceptional director. It’s easily my favorite anime of the year. I’ll avoid gushing too much, and simply say that I agree with pretty much everything in your review. I look forward to seeing what Yamada brings us next.
